Goal Statement:

This course will provide a comprehensive overview of dry eye diagnosis, treatment, and patient management.

Educational Objectives:

After completing this activity, the participant should be better able to:

  1. Outline traditional and new diagnostic techniques for dry eye and Meibomian gland dysfunction.
  2. Appreciate the role of Meibomian gland dysfunction in dry eye.
  3. Consider the diverse array of dry eye disease therapies and approaches to effective patient management.
  4. Describe the mechanisms of action for therapies that directly address tear film physiology and gland function.

Target Audience:

This activity is intended for optometrists who provide primary care optometry services, including but not limited to medical optometric services.
